I was searching for a quality video editing software couple months back. I wanted something that gave me a lot of control without taking days to learn the basics. A lot of IM’ers really like Animoto. Those fast moving/flashing videos would give me headaches lol. They finally provided the option to set the movie for ’slow’ but there’s no control otherwise. For those who want to upload pics and spit out something decent (though not unique), it’s ideal.

I actually ended up using OneTrueMedia for a couple months, but I once again found myself frustrated with the lack of control – having to jump from screen to screen to make changes, no audio editing to name just a couple. But I’m canceling that account because I just snagged a copy of VideoStudio Pro X2 today I can’t wait for it to arrive!

It does offer the option to produce the video for youtube and upload right within the software – so great for IM usage. It also produces in flv for easier display on web pages. In fact, I read that you can state the video size needed and it will determine best export settings.

today while it’s at a steal of a price. When mine arrives and I’ve had a chance to play with it, I’ll be sure to upload some examples.
