You know Twitter kind of brings back the only thing I miss about working a J.O.B. - the social environment. Just the little blurbs to a co-worker, “Jane, this computer is driving me nuts today” that make you feel you’re not alone. But as far as working online goes.. Twitter provides a great networking opportunity. And I’m hoping to get a separate acct set up to work with a small group of people who will hold each other accountable for reaching goals.

So.. on to the point of this post lol. Twhirl is one of several apps made to help you more easily get the most out of Twitter. I was digging around it yesterday trying to figure out how to make sure I’m taking advantage of it’s features and along comes Ed Dale with a video this morning. Ed is also the first one who turned my attention to Twitter months back and he finally badgered me into trying it. Ed left out a couple things I need to learn about Twhirl like using read/unread, refresh, favorites and such but I’ll either figure it out or find another video

Domain Acquisition Manager

I spent part of my day adding my info to this great software. It was SO worth the time and the interface makes it easy to whip through them. Doing the setup forced me to review all of my domains and where I have them hosted which was a very good thing. A few of the domains that I’m not ready to put to use yet I parked at Sedo.com. I then tagged these domains as such, so I will now be able to quickly get a reminder not only on where my domains are registered and hosted, when they are expiring, but also search by tags such as which ones are parked.

So you would think that this covers the features of a Domain Management software, but there are some great additional perks that make it so much more. You can also use it for Keyword and Page Rank tracking for each of those domains. You can even add subdomains to your cpanel and..l

The good news is that you can add your affiliate link/product banners. The bad news is, you’d better have some time to kill. Man that thing moves slowly! It is constantly loading even when I’m not doing anything. It’s not completely intuitive (you didn’t expect me to review the instructions did you?), but still easy enough to figure out.

I still plan to make a few simple sites to see how they work for backlinks and traffic as the site becomes more popular. I know.. where’s the video? I wanted to record my 1st attempt with the Weebly site builder but with the strain it was putting on Firefox and the effect it had on my attempt at opening a text editor, I knew there was no way I’d get a screen capture to work effectively.

Maybe I’ll try installing the script on my own domain and server (I think I saw that was possible), but I can’t really see the point. Though it may be good for someone brand new to website design, it left me wanting to have more flexibility. So I think I’ll stick it in my ‘traffic sources’ category.
